Walt Disney once said, “We keep moving forward… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” That spirit feels more alive than ever, with AI leading the change.

AI is no longer just a trend,  it’s in the music we want to hear, the content we want to scroll, and the way we want to decipher information and arrive at decisions or results. In advertising, where innovation is key to capturing attention, AI has become a powerful, indispensable creative partner. Especially in animation, where tech meets imagination, it’s opening creative paths for storytellers and brands alike.

Across industries, AI is heavily participating in creative strategies, offering faster insights, targeted storytelling, and real-time adaptability. In animation, it supports every stage: from helping writers brainstorm ideas, character designs, storyboarding, handling multilingual voiceovers and even rough animations from simple prompts. Tools like ChatGPT, MidJourney, Runway, and Kling AI are transforming pipelines. The result? Faster production, quicker feedback, and near-final visuals ready at pitch stage.

In short, AI isn’t just speeding things up, it’s assisting brands become sharper, smarter, and more future-ready.

But let’s be clear: using AI alone doesn’t guarantee stories that move people. At the heart of every powerful idea is still a human mind, curious, intuitive, and emotionally aware. While AI is widely accessible and often reflects existing data, it’s how well we use it that makes the difference.

That’s where creative agencies come in. We bring the ideas, emotional connection, and storytelling instincts that AI can only replicate or build on. We ensure your brand value & positioning keep the identity consistent and stronger with every communication, your stories feel human, and your message truly connects. What AI might miss or is yet to decipher, a good designer storyteller will lean into, and that’s what makes the work unforgettable.

At Vivi5 Studios, we see AI as a new tool in our design kit. For a recent electric automobile brand film, we used MidJourney to generate concept art that helped us pitch our concepts, helping the client visualize them and make more informed and satisfactory decisions while saving us time and money. In a research-driven awareness film for a global organization, we built AI-powered moodboards to translate abstract ideas into visual form.

Even for smaller projects, festive greetings, awareness posts, social media content, once we’ve set a direction and concept, AI helps us create visuals faster. From lino-cut style illustrations to heartfelt frames like a mother holding a child, we use AI to generate quick visuals, then refine and enhance them with our design expertise and creative software, further narrowing down the emotional connection intended for our social media platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

This gives us more time to focus on what really matters: the concept, the story, that soul! And we’re constantly training, testing, and staying sharp with the latest tools to make meaningful stories.

Coca-Cola offers a great example too, recently releasing an AI-generated ad for their ‘The Holiday Magic Is Coming’ campaign.

Their ‘Create Real Magic’ campaign invited users to generate AI art, with the best entries featured on billboards. What an excellent way to boost engagement while highlighting their creative use of AI, by WPP’s Open X.

So, what does all this mean for marketing leaders today? This creative tool is now in the hands of many who have the wit to leverage it and is no longer limited to a few creative people, unlike before, opening doors to many more exciting campaigns. But there’s a catch here. It’s not just about faster or cheaper content now; it’s about better design thinking and smarter storytelling for today’s creatively smarter audiences, to stand out tall within and above the trend.

AI gives brands the power to test visual ideas early on, helping reduce risk and direct the creative production before big-budget commitments. Imagine your product demo as a short film or your internal brand video, truly making your team feel something, delivered faster than ever. You get emotionally resonant stories that resonate across cultures and platforms. Visuals that stay on-brand and on-message. Campaigns that connect deeply with audiences.

Generative AI also supports campaign testing, language rollouts, and customer segmentation, boosting your team’s bandwidth and giving you more room to think strategically. The result? Stronger content, better engagement, and a brand that stands out in a crowded feed.

But with all this opportunity comes responsibility. As AI-generated content increases, transparency matters more. Platforms like YouTube and Meta are already rolling out AI-content labels. Being honest with your audience isn’t just ethical, it builds trust.

Used right, AI enables content creation that once took months to happen in weeks or days. But brands that are still thinking or contemplating their usage are at risk of falling behind.

But adopting AI alone isn’t enough. To unlock its full potential, brands need to see it as a creative partner, to push boundaries and stay relevant in a fast-evolving world. This isn’t about using AI to help us turn imaginations into creative realities, to create purposeful films and campaigns that not only are truly felt but have a great recall and a more effective CTA.

Powered by technology, driven by heart, we are on the threshold of this welcome change. Watch this space for more information, exploration, and meaning from the world of animation in advertising and marketing.
