The brief was to create a film that brought out the features of Ashok Leyland’s new venture, Switch mobility. The client wanted us to highlight the product’s advantages and unique services that it offers. The film needed to appeal to investors at their meeting. They wanted their key points and features to be conveyed with a tight script, so we had to come up with a storyline to make it appealing without wasting any time on elaborate storytelling.
Since the technology was fairly new, even to a well informed crowd we needed to study it and understand how it was truly revolutionary. This meant we had to learn the concepts that the Switch buses used so that we could translate it in a convincing manner. This was crucial to our design process.
Once we did our homework, we understood that to fully bring out this technology we must create a story where the impact of these buses have helped the environment. We decided to create a futuristic setting, where the technology driven buses had revolutionised urban transportation, further cementing Ashok Leyland position within this new landscape.
This led us to creating a semi-realistic treatment, where the vehicles and people looked real. We knew that the product would thrive within this setting.
We worked throughout the complete 3D animation process, and we tried to create a final look with an overall tone of green throughout.
This was to create that impact that Switch mobility was driving us to towards a greener future.
The film was well received by the clients.
